Water Cycle Rain Drops

The Homeroom class has finished up their water cycle unit by writing a story.  Students wrote about what it would be like to be a drop of water in the water cycle.  Check out their hard work on their student blogs.

 

Leopards, Chameleons, and Penguins, Oh My!

Students in the the 1st and 2nd grade Enrichment class read non-fiction books on animals.  They identified important and interesting facts about their animals and created Voice Threads on their animals.  Below is Samuel’s example.  To see more examples go to the Non-Fiction Picture Books section of the Read and Respond Project.

Animals in Maryland – Create a Food Chain

Go to the link below and learn about the animals that can be found in Maryland.  Next, create a food chain using the animals you read about.  Remember you will need to include the sun and a producer in your food chain to make it complete.

Go to the link below and read “Whose Habitat Is It?” and describe the effect that humans have on an environment.  Make sure to include if the effect is positive or negative and use evidence from the article to support your answer.

The Water Cycle

Go to the link below and watch the video of the water cycle.  Identify the stages of the water cycle and list them in order in the comments section.  On your own paper draw a poster of the water cycle and bring it into class.  Make sure to label each of the parts of your poster and to make the poster neat and eye catching.
