Summarizing My Fiction Story
Our 2nd grade Enrichment class has been learning how to summarize fictional texts. Students chose their favorite story and will summarize the story in this post.
Students make sure to include the title of your story. Remember that a summary only tells the most important main events or ideas in a story and is much shorter than the original story read.

There was a kitty living in a house. The people in the house ran out of food for kitty . Kitty was being bad because he ruined stuff and he bit grandma on her leg. Kitty wrote bad stuff to his neighbors. The mom came home with groceries from the store and Kitty was happy and she started being nice to people. He wrote something nice to his neighbors and the mom rewared him with a dog.

Kitty was a good Kitty until Kitty decideed she would be a bad Kitty. When her family ran out of food Kitty ate the little girls homework, bit Grandma, clawed the curtains, and flooded the bathroom. Kitty started to be a good Kitty because when they brought her her favorite foods.

In “The Night I Followed the Dog” a man thought his dog was boring when he compared him to other dogs. He decided to let the dog out every night so he could follow him. The dog put on fancy clothes and went to a club. His owner tried to get into the club but the mean bulldogs did not let him in until his dog said he was okay. The dog ate dog bones at the club until he and his owner went home.

The story “The Night I Followed the Dog” was about a boy who had a dog. The boy thought his neighbors had the best dog in the world . The dog won medals and won first prize. The boy saw his dog walking out of a limosine and he was wearing a tuxedo. The dog was living in a house with fancy clothes. The dog had two mean friends with him. The boy couldn’t beilve what his dog could do.

In the story “Bad Kitty” there was a good kitty who was only good until one day her owner ran out of food. That was when she became a bad kitty. Kitty flooded the bathroom, she bit grandma’s leg, and she ripped up homework. Her owner brought home some food. Kitty was surprised and became good again. She was rewarded by getting a dog to be her friend.

In the story “When Pigs Fly” a cow named Ralph lived in a meadow near the city. Ralph wanted his dad to buy him a new bike but his dad said cows don’t ride bikes. Ralph begged steadily until his dad said he would buy him a bike when pigs fly. Ralph decided to learn how to fly a helicopter so he could put his friend who was a pig inside the helicopter. Then a pig would fly. Mr. Bill taught Ralph how to fly a helicopter. He took his friend who was a pig in the helicopter and made pigs fly. He father gave him a bike.
