I want to add the word influenza. The word influenza means the flu. This word helps the reader better understand the story because it explains why the boy was sent away from his family.

My word is knishes. The definition is it is a type of food that you eat and also looks like a puff ball filled with meat, potatoes, or vegetables. I think this word would help the reader better understand the story because Marvin eats the knishe in the story because he is Jewish and has to eat kosher meals.

I picked silhouette as my word. Silhouette means a dark form against a light background. Marven saw a silhouette when Louis was cutting a tree and it reminded Marven of a bear. The reader will better understand why Marven was scared if they know the meaning of silhouette.

It is usually like a bad cold, with fever, and often pain in the muscles. Knowing what the word influenza means helps the reader better understand the story because the story is mostly about Marven’s family wanting to protect him from getting influenza so they send him away.

I chose to add the word influeza. The word inflenza means a very bad sickness that little kids and adults could catch. It helps the reader better understand because Marven’s family is trying to keep him from is catching the influenza like his grandmother by sending him away.
