This Week in Reading – Cause and Effect
This week in Reading we are studying cause and effect relationships. We are reading The Name Game and additional Weekly Reader articles. You are going to identify a cause and effect relationship in how you got your own name. For example, a new mom missed her grandmother Katherine who had died (cause) so she named her new daughter Katherine (effect). Talk to your parents and find out how you got your name and write the cause and effect relationship in how you got your name in the comments section under this post. For extra credit find another cause and effect relationship in how someone else you know got their name.

I got my middle name after my grandfather.

Both of my children got their names from people their mother and father cared about. My daughters name is Katherine. She got her name because both her father and I had grandmothers named Katherine who are gone now. We wanted her to have something from these two wonderful women. My son is named Michael. He is named after my brother, who is also gone. His name ended up fitting him because he looks and acts very much like my brother.

My name came from my mom because she thought it was a cute name for a girl. My dad liked that name for a girl too. So my mom and dad named me Donijaha Cornish. My mom and dad names are Rochelle , DonTra.

My name came from my mom named Tammya also my dad Monthie.They mixed ther names together to get Meaziah so they made up a lot of names dut they really liked Meaziah the best .
