This Week in Reading – Compare and Contrast
This week in Reading we are comparing and contrasting characters, settings, events, and stories. We are reading a story called Cendrillon, which is a variant tale of Cinderella. Go to the site below and read another version of the Cinderella story. Then answer the following compare and contrast questions in the comments section under this post:

1.The book I am comparing and contrasting is Cindrella.
2.Cinderella and Cendrillan are the same because thier fathers both got married again and then the stepmother icame and took over the house. Both stepmothers turned them into maids and they both went to the ball.
3.They are not not different.

The story I read was called “The Story of Tam and Cam. The character Tam is the same as Cendrillion because they both have to clean up for the evil step-mother. The character is different from cendrillion because the names are different.

1.The story I read was called “The Story of Tam Cam”. 2.The character Tam is the same as Cendrillon because they both had to clean up for the evil step-mother and they both got married to the prince. 3.The character is different because Tam had to get a bucket load of fish and Cendrillon used Nannin to make her use magic so she could go to the ball.

It’s similar because they went to the ball and Cinderella danced with the prince. Then it got late, so she ran out and she lost her shoe. They are the same because they both got married to a prince. They are different because Cendrillon worked around the house and Cinderella didn’t.

1.I am comparing the story Cindermaid.
2.The main character is the same as Cendrillon because she has the same evil stepmother.
3.She is different because she has stepsisters and stepbrothers.

I read that this little girl named Cinderella had a dad who had a wife that was Cinderella’s mom until her dad got remarried because her old mom died and he had to move on. When he got remarried the two sisters were mean, evil, and they didn’t like Cinderella. When the two little and big sisters went to the ball Cinderella was at home cleaning up. Then two little birds came through the window and asked Cinderella if she needed help sorting the beans from bad to good and cenderella said, “Yes, I do”. Also Cinderella told the birds that she wanted to go to the ball also with the two little girls. The birds told her to go to her mom’s grave and shake the tree and wish for a dress for the ball, so she went to the tree and said shake me shake me give me a dress to wear. Then the tree gave her a dress to wear.

I read that a girl named Cinderella had a dad who loved his wife which was Cinderella’s mom then her mom died.
Then her dad got married again and she became Cinderella’s stepmom and she has two daughters. The stepmom and stepsisters treated her bad. They said she was there bad. When they went to the ball they left Cinderella at the house and told her to sort peas, lentils, and clean the house. Then two birds flew through the window and asked her did she want some help sorting the peas, lentils, and the other stuff she had to sort. They helped her sort the peas and lentils and other stuff. They told her go shake the tree that is over top of her mom’s grave and wish for a dress and shoes fso she could go to the ball. Her two stepsisters came back and Cinderella asked them if they had a good time and they said no because a princess came to the ball and she was dancing with the prince.

Jamaija, Tajai, Damien, Hannah, and Ter’Shyia you did a great job of comparing and contrasting. I noticed that several of you picked “The Story of Tam and Cam”. It must be a great story! I’m going to go to the site and read it. Zakiya and Shawne’ you did a good job summarizing, why don’t you go back to the comment section and compare and contrast your two stories too.

1.The name of the story is “The Little Glass Slipper’. They’re the same, because both of them wore pretty dresses.
2.They are the same,because they both married the prince.
3.They are different, because Cendrillon didn’t have a long list of chores and Cinderella did.

The two people that I am talking about is cenderella/cendrillon.In cenderella she helped her sisters comb their hair before they went to the ball the same thing that cendrillon did.In cendrillon and cenderella they both wanted to go to the ball but they couldn’t go because they didn’t have a dress to wear.In cendrillon and cenderella their sisters didn’t want them to go to the ball.In cenderella and cendrillonboth of their mom died and cenderella’s mom planted a tree by her grave and when she shakes it she gets good luck or any thing that she wants. Cendrillon’s mom left her a magic wand.Cenderella’s mom told her to plant a tree by her grave and any time that she needs something shak
